She also took the opportunity to organize private sales and showrooms, particularly at Stages restaurant and at Down the Island, a small island off the coast of Trinidad where, traditionally, revelers come to rest once the carnival is over.
Various photoshoots were also carried out, highlighting the work of the designer, but also that of a talented make-up artist: Neishel. @Carnivalmakeupaddict who would eventually collaborate with Jaky on a limited edition, entirely hand-painted collection.

The Trinidad carnival takes place every year in February or March and represents a formidable space of freedom and creativity for those who organize it and those who participate.
The program of festivities officially spans two days, traditionally Shrove Monday and Tuesday.

Carnival Monday: Monday WEAR
The first day is all about creativity! Carnival Monday allows everyone to parade in the outfit of their choice, called Monday Wear.
Taking advantage of the occasion, Wi-Paris takes part in the festivities! And it starts at dawn in Port of Spain with a celebration and paint battles in the street, traditionally called JOUVERT!
Tuesday, everyone "play mas"
The famous costumes of the Trinidad carnival, adorned with jewels and feathered headdresses, only appear on Tuesday, the most important day of the festival. Competing, the various groups or bands parade before judges who will elect the best among them.
The party is not just in the parade! Concerts, street entertainment, parties... all the islands come alive to the sound of soca or calypso.
